2017 Interim Dividend

Commonwealth Bank of Australia announced a fully franked interim dividend of $1.99 per share on Wednesday, 15 February 2017, a 1 cent increase on the 2016 interim dividend. This represents a dividend payout ratio of 69.9% of cash NPAT.

The 2017 interim dividend will be paid on 4 April 2017. The ex-dividend date is 22 February 2017 and the Record Date is 23 February 2017 (5pm AEDT).

The Group's Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) will continue to operate. Any change to your participation in the DRP must be received by 24 February 2017 (5pm AEDT).

No discount will be applied to shares issued under the DRP for this dividend.

Announcement 2017 interim dividend - Notification of dividend/distribution

New Zealand imputation credits of NZ$0.09 per share will be attached to the 2017 interim dividend. The imputation credit is only relevant for New Zealand resident taxpayers who meet certain requirements. If you require further information, we recommend you talk to your tax advisor or the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department.;

Direct Credit Policy

The Bank pays dividends to shareholders with registered addresses in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom by direct credit which is fast, safe and secure. If you do not provide your payment instructions by the Record Date of 23 February 2017 and you are not a full Dividend Reinvestment Plan participant, your dividend will be held on your behalf in a non-interest bearing account. Payment of your dividend into your nominated bank account will be made as soon as possible after receipt of your payment instructions.
