What you'll need

  • A business trading name registered with ASIC
  • A Business Transaction Account to settle your sales to, or if you don’t have one we can set up a CommBank Business Transaction Account with a $0 monthly fee option

Your website requirements

Your website must clearly display:

  • Terms and conditions
  • Privacy policy
  • Refunds Policy, Dispatch & Deliveries Policy if you sell goods
  • Images of the goods or services
  • Current contact details, including phone number, email address and trading address in Australia
  • You must also make sure your Australian business trading name matches the primary name you use on your website.

Have these details handy

  • Business contact information, including phone and email
  • Australian Business Number (ABN), business structure and registered address
  • Financial information, including yearly turnover, average transaction value, start date
  • Details of every director, partner or trustee depending on your business structure. This includes birth date, residency and occupation information

How to apply

Apply online if your business is already with CommBank, and

  • You're a sole trader or own a private company (and you're the only director)
  • You make up to $12,000 per month in online sales
  • You want to settle your online sales to a CommBank Business Transaction Account

Things you should know

1 This offer is available for current or new Business Transaction Account customers. After the six-month period, the minimum monthly service fee will come into effect. Other fees and charges may apply. Amex, JCB and Diner transactions are available at an additional cost. Offer ends 12 December 2019. 

2 Everyday Settlement available to eligible customers with a Commonwealth Bank Business Transaction Account and a linked Commonwealth Bank merchant facility. ‘Same day’ includes all card sales before 5:30 pm (AEST).

CommBank Simplify Controls enables users to customise their fraud setting via setting fraud rules, reviewing payments and receiving smart alerts enabling you to control, prevent and monitor transactions in real time including transaction size, country of origin and repeat transactions.

Joining fee of $250 applies if you settle to another financial provider. 

This is our standard pricing offer. For a full list of applicable fees and charges, refer to our Merchant AgreementFinancial Services Guide and our Letter of Offer issued once the merchant facility has been approved.

6 International card scheme fees are applicable when you process transactions on overseas credit cards: 0.88% per Visa transaction and 0.44% per Mastercard transaction. When you process a refund, you will get a percentage credited back: 0.28% per Visa card refund and 0.32% per Mastercard refund. For example if you refunded a $100 transaction on a Visa card, you would get $0.28 credit, which is 0.28% of your $100 transaction.
