PayID is a piece of information - such as your mobile number, email address or ABN/ACN - that's linked to your nominated CommBank business account. You can give your PayID to your customers to receive quick and easy payments straight into your account.
To close, transfer, lock/unlock or change the linked account or the name of your PayID:
A single PayID, such as your mobile number, can only be registered to one account. An alternative PayID, such as an email address or ABN, can be registered to another account.
A PayID can only be used to pay money into your account - never to take money out. Your actual account details are never visible during the payment process.
Yes. To send payments to someone else, they just need to provide you with their PayID. Learn more about sending money through PayID.
PayID is an initiative of the New Payments Platform (NPP) fast payments infrastructure built by participating Australian banks and the Reserve Bank of Australia. It was developed to improve the speed and convenience of making and receiving payments between Australian banks who are part of the program.

¹For security reasons, a hold may apply on first time payments. The delay allows fraud security checks to take place and gives you time to alert us to unauthorised or suspicious activity on your account. Subsequent payments should be received in under a minute.
²To prevent fraud we can only allow you to register the primary mobile number already linked to your CommBank customer profile. If you'd like to use a different mobile number or need to update your details please call 13 2221.
3 The CommBank app is free to download however your mobile network provider charges you for accessing data on your phone. The CommBank app is available on Android operating systems 6.0+ and iOS operating system 12.0+. Terms and conditions for the CommBank app are available on the app. NetBank access with NetCode SMS is required.
