8 ways to manage your money in the CommBank app

The CommBank app is your digital wallet. Wondering what you can do in the app? Here are 8 things to get you started.

Don't forget, before you use the app, we’ll always ask you to log on either with your fingerprint or using your secure PIN. Whenever you use the CommBank app you’ve got the reassurance that you’re covered by our 100% security guarantee.

1. Check your balance 

See your available funds and account balance (including Essential Super fund) at a glance in View accounts. Tap the arrow to the right of each account to see transactions relating to that account – filter by date, amount, credit or debit.

Tax tip: Tap menu > contact details > Tax File Number to add your TFN to your accounts to avoid having tax unnecessarily withheld.

2. Pay someone

You can pay someone using their mobile number, bank account or make an overseas transfer in the app. Having paid someone once you’ve the option to keep their details making it quicker to pay them next time.

3. See, track and pay bills in the app 

Manage your bills in one place with Bills and upcoming payments. Many billers can send their bills to you online via BPAY View®  so you can see, track, set up reminders and pay them now, later or automatically on the go in the CommBank app.

Tap menu > Bills and upcoming payments to switch to online bills

Photo-a-bill allows you to BPAY® a bill using just your iPhone 5 and above (Android version is coming soon). Take a shot of your bill and image capture technology scans, then adds the details needed for you to tap pay.

Tap BPAY icon > + symbol > take a shot of your bill > Check amount > Pay

4. Pay for things in-store

You can make contactless payments in store for purchases up to $100 using Tap & Pay – it works on compatible Android and iPhone phones2. Simply tap your phone to pay, at participating stores. 

5. Get cash out, without your card 

Ever been stuck without cash when you’ve forgotten your wallet? Cardless Cash in the app lets you withdraw up to $500 cash a day securely from a CommBank ATM without your card.

6. Be notified every time you use your credit card

Turn Transaction Notifications on and we’ll tell you instantly when you pay or are charged for something on your credit card, so you can see your spend as it happens.

7. Store loyalty cards

You can use the app like a digital wallet and store all your loyalty cards in one place, so you avoid missing out on points when you shop.

8. Tell us your travel plans

Heading overseas sometime soon? Use the app to tell us about your trip so we can keep an eye out for suspicious activity on your account while you’re away.
