Icon - Online

Log on to NetBank to purchase a card without leaving your home or office. Your card will be delivered by mail and appear in your NetBank within 5 business days (Delivery may take longer outside metropolitan areas).

When using the card to make purchases, the Travel Money Card will deduct the currency that the transaction is in if the currency is loaded on your card. If you don’t have the currency loaded, you can still use the card – we will manage all currency conversions for you fee-free (Note: currency conversion rates apply).

Select the ‘credit’ option at merchants and ATMs. Most merchants will allow you to use your 4 digit PIN. Please add ‘00’ after your PIN if a 6 digit PIN is required.

If you want to use the foreign currency that you have loaded on your card, make sure you select the correct currency and do not select AUD if given a choice. Your card will automatically deduct funds from the currency of your transaction if you have that currency on your card. If you have multiple currencies on your card, there are some circumstances in which a default currency order may apply, for example, when reloading via BPAY® or if you have insufficient funds loaded for the currency you are trying to use. For more details or to view/change this currency order, log on to NetBank or call the Travel Money Customer Service Centre 24/7 on (+61) 1300 660 700.

If you do not have a sufficient balance on your card to process the total transaction value, the total amount will be deducted from the next available currency that has a sufficient balance (taking into account it will need to be converted to the local currency it is trying to process).

Example: you have 20 Euros (EUR) and 100 New Zealand Dollars (NZD) left on your Travel Money Card and are paying for a meal costing 30 EUR. Since you have insufficient EUR for the full transaction but sufficient funds in NZD, your Travel Money Card will automatically convert NZD into the equivalent of 30 EUR to pay for your meal (leaving the original 20 Euros on your card) instead of declining the transaction.
