Find out if you qualify for Comprehensive Saver by providing your kilometres driven per year.

2. Provide your odometer readings

Provide your start and end odometer readings before your policy starts.

  • Start reading - The odometer reading before your policy starts
  • End reading – The start reading, plus the kilometres you plan to drive for the year

3. Keep track of your odometer reading

If you approach or have exceeded your end odometer reading, call 13 1361 to apply to top up your kilometres, subject to terms and conditions.3

FAQs

The difference between these two cover options is that if you drive less than 15,000km a year, you may be eligible for Comprehensive Saver. Subject to Hollard’s acceptance criteria, this could mean you're paying a lower annual base premium (excludes levies, Government charges, Roadside Assistance and any discounts you may be eligible for, based off the kilometres you’ve nominated).

The same cover and benefits as Comprehensive will continue to apply.

If you’ve driven over your nominated kilometres, call 13 1361 as soon as possible to apply for an update to review your policy and increase your end kilometres.

If at time of a claim, your odometer reading is higher than the end odometer reading that is on your Certificate of Insurance, then you may have to pay an additional excess which is called “outside odometer excess.”

An increase may be allowed subject to terms and conditions.3

At each renewal, your end odometer reading will be automatically increased by the number of kilometres selected. This is shown on your Certificate of Insurance (COI).

You need to check this end odometer reading. If you’re comfortable with the reading, you don’t need to do anything.

However, if you’d like to increase or decrease your end odometer reading for the renewal period of insurance, call 13 1361 to apply for an update before your policy renews.

Once cover has started, you’re unable to reduce your end odometer reading during that period of insurance. Before renewal of your policy, you can apply to reduce it for the next renewal policy period.

The policyholder can call 13 1361 to add more drivers. You’ll need the following information for all drivers:

  • Name, gender and date of birth
  • Age they first got their full licence in Australia or a recognised country, excluding their Learner’s licence
  • Driving, claim and criminal history.

Adding more drivers might change your premium and the excesses payable at the time of a claim.

Comprehensive provides cover for loss or damage to your car, and legal liability for other people’s property if you’re at fault.
