Farmers and regional communities across Australia have been hit hard by the worst drought in decades.

To help, we’re donating $2 million, including $1.75 million as part of a national fundraising appeal with the Australian Red Cross.

The remaining $250,000 will go to Rural Aid's ‘Buy a Bale’ program which supports the urgent need for livestock feed.

If you’d like to lend a hand, all our branches are accepting donations with funds going straight to the farmers and communities who need it most. To donate, head to your local branch or make a direct deposit to:

Drought relief appeal provides farming families with financial support.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Drought Relief Appeal in partnership with Australian Red Cross. All funds raised through the appeal are being used to alleviate financial pressures and support the health and well-being of severely drought-affected farmers.

Financial support is being made available to meet everyday expenses, such as purchasing household essentials, covering grocery costs or paying bills. Funds raised are also helping impacted farming families to cover other essential everyday costs such as medical bills and educational expenses.

To ensure funds get to where they are needed most, Australian Red Cross has partnered with Country Women’s Association of NSW and Queensland Country Women’s Association to provide grants of up to $3000 each. Those impacted by the drought can apply now for assistance via the relevant websites:

Our farming and regional business customers can also get some much needed relief with a package of drought assistance measures available.

Customers in financial difficulty caused by the drought, will not have their default interest rate applied to their business term loan. This will help provide peace of mind and extra flexibility to help get their businesses back on track.

The drought assistance package also includes a confidential telephone counselling service to support customers and their families going through the drought.

CommBank regional and agribusiness customers experiencing financial difficulties from the drought should contact their Relationship Manager; phone 1300 772 968 or visit their nearest branch.
