International Money Transfers to Vietnam: new, free options

We’re introducing some great new features to our International Money Transfer capabilities in NetBank, including a new home delivery option for Vietnam. You can now send Vietnamese currency (DONG) to Vietnam in one of three ways:

  • Credit Account: This option credits funds directly to the recipient’s bank account in Vietnam. For Commonwealth Bank accounts, same day delivery is possible; for accounts held at other banks, delivery will normally take 2–5 days. There is no fee for sending an IMT via this method.
  • Hold in Branch: When you send an IMT via this option, the funds will be held at a Commonwealth Bank branch in Vietnam. Your beneficiary must visit the branch to receive cash, arrange credit to their own account or transfer the funds to another bank. This option also has no fee attached.
  • Home Delivery: This new option, costing only $AUD5.00, provides delivery to the address of the beneficiary once they have provided proof of that address.

What if I haven’t made an IMT before?

You need to have an IMT limit set up in NetBank before you can make an IMT. To set up your IMT limit, just call the NetBank help desk on 13 2828, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are calling from overseas, telephone +61 13 2828 (international charges will apply).
