How to apply

1. Apply online or call

When you apply, we'll make sure the product is right for your business. 

2. Review your application

  • We’ll email you your final application form to review
  • If no signature is required, we'll fast track your application for approval
  • If we need a physical signature, we'll email your application to you to sign and return

3. Get approved

  • If approved, we'll send you a confirmation letter with your merchant facility ID

4. Receive your terminal

  • You can choose to receive a text message confirming when your terminal will arrive
  • Our technicians will deliver your terminal
  • Delivery takes at least 3 days for metro and 5 days for regional locations

Have these details handy 

  • Business contact information, including phone and email
  • Australian Business Number (ABN), business structure and registered address
  • Financial information, including monthly turnover and average card transaction sizes
  • Details or every director, partner or trustee depending on your business structure. This includes birth date, residency and occupation information

1The $0 terminal rental fee is available to eligible customers who apply for and open a new merchant terminal between 29 March 2021 and 30 June 2021, and settle to a CommBank Business Transaction Account on eligible pricing plans. Offer valid until 30 June 2021 and subject to change. The $0 terminal rental fee offer means customers have their terminal rental fees waived for the first 6 months for up to a maximum of 3 terminals, available on Essential Lite and Essential Plus.  The offer is only available at the initial application and can’t be extended to additional terminals after the application has been processed. Mail Order and Telephone Order (MOTO) processing also known as Handkey: Call our Merchant team after your application is approved. Once authorised, you can process payments manually by entering credit card details into an EFTPOS machine. Each request will be assessed individually. We don't guarantee your application for Handkey functionality (MOTO) will be approved.

Excess usage fees of 1.5% applies to any monthly card turnover over your included amount. Additional fees and charges may apply. The full fee list will be sent to you once your application is processed.

1.80% covers Visa®, Mastercard®, eftpos®, UnionPay® transactions (not AMEX®, or Diners®).

4 hour device replacement service is available for metro and 3-5 business days for remote areas. Remote area is anywhere which isn’t serviced by a technician, and only phone support is available.

7Joining fee of $250 applies if you settle to another financial provider.

8 Additional fees and charges including $110 recovery and data removal fee if you cancel your plan, $500 terminal non-return fee if you need to replace a damaged EFTPOS machine or you don't return your machine once you've finished your plan and EFTPOS stationery order charged if you order new EFTPOS rolls and stationery for your machine. You may incur an upgrade fee of $149 per EFTPOS machine if you choose to upgrade.
