About the CommBank Awards program

Overview

CommBank offers the largest rewards program of any bank in Australia*, with no expiry on points. Earn points quickly when you use your CommBank Awards credit card for daily spending. Redeem exclusively in-store at Myer and Flight Centre or choose from over 1,000 Award items.

  • Your CommBank Awards credit card gives you automatic access to the Awards program

Not enough points for the reward you want? No problem. Just use Points Plus Pay, which means you can use the Awards points you have now and pay the remainder on your CommBank Awards credit card.

You can now view and redeem your CommBank Awards points through the CommBank app.  It’s never been easier.

Just follow these 3 simple steps once you have the CommBank app:

Open the CommBank app

Open the CommBank app and tap on the cards icon located in the middle of the bottom row.

Log on for security

If you haven’t logged in yet, you’ll be asked to log on for security.

Tap on the Awards link

Tap on the Awards link below your CommBank Awards card.

CommBank Awards have achieved some Australian firsts, delivering you exclusive ways to pay with points. You can now use your Awards points in-store at Myer and Flight Centre to pay for purchases.

Points balance

As your CommBank Awards points accumulate, you will want to know how many points you have and what you can spend them on.  Now, here’s how you can:

View your CommBank Awards points balance through the CommBank app.

Simply log on to the CommBank App, tap on the Cards icon, and then tap on the Awards link below your CommBank Awards card.

All you have to do is access the Awards website by clicking the Awards icon next to your credit card details.  Here is an example of NetBank and where the Awards icon is located.

If you’re not registered for NetBank, sign up now for free.  It’s the quick and easy way to look at your finances and have immediate access to your Awards program.

With our exclusive partners, Myer and Flight Centre, you can now find out your CommBank Awards points balance instantly and pay with points at the till. Don't forget, you can use points plus pay if you don't quite have enough points for your purchase.

You can also call us 13 1661 between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday (Sydney/Melbourne time).

Travel

You can redeem your CommBank Awards points for travel with Flight Centre or any of our other travel programs.

Redeeming Awards points for travel is simple. There are no blackout dates when you travel with Flight Centre – choose any seat, any airline, any destination at any time:

  • Redeem Awards points instantly in over 1000 Flight Centre stores, by calling 1300 165 033 or by visiting the CommBank Awards website through NetBank or through the CommBank app
  • You can also redeem Awards points at Escape Travel, Student Flights, Travel Associates and Cruiseabout
  • Use Awards points to book flights, hotels, car hire, cruises and holiday packages
  • Not enough points? Top up with Points Plus Pay – use the Awards points you have plus extra cash from your credit card to make up the difference

  • Call 1300 165 033 and ask to pay with CommBank Awards points
  • Purchase international and domestic flights and domestic accommodation online by accessing the Awards website. Click on the Awards icon next to your credit card details in NetBank
  • To access the Awards website through the CommBank app, log on, tap on the Cards icon, and then tap on the Awards link below your Awards card.

~ Effective from 1st October 2013. Prior to this date, CommBank Platinum American Express cardholders can earn 3 points per dollar spent.

Once a customer has opted in to Qantas Frequent Flyer Direct, all CommBank Awards points  earned after opting in will be automatically redeemed for Qantas Points and transferred monthly to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account at the applicable conversion rate. It is important to note that any CommBank Awards points earned prior to the date of your opt-in cannot be transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to earn and redeem Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and the earning and redemption of points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program terms and conditions. Further information on the Qantas Frequent Flyer program including the terms and conditions of the program are available at qantas.com/terms or by calling 13 11 31. 

The conversion rate for Platinum and Diamond cards is effective from 2 May 2016. Prior to that  date the conversion rate for Platinum and Diamond cards is 1 Qantas Frequent Flyer point = 2 CommBank Awards points.
