COVID support

We understand it’s a really tough time for many Australians right now – lockdowns, job and business insecurity, and financial uncertainty are just some of the ways this evolving coronavirus crisis has impacted us and our communities.

We’re here to support you through the financial impacts of coronavirus on you and/or your business, and to help you get back on-track as quickly as possible.

Visit our COVID support page for ways you can request financial support from us.

Coping with the unexpected

Certain events in your life may leave you needing help and support to get back on track financially. For example:

  • Changes to your income and expenses
  • Losing your job
  • A significant life event, such as a relationship breakdown or death in the family
  • Injury or illness
  • An emergency event or natural disaster

We may be able to help with tailored payment solutions, including reducing your payments for a period of time, extending your repayment arrangements, or consolidating your existing CommBank debts.

Request financial assistance in NetBank or call us on 13 30 95 if you’re unable to, or may be unable to, meet your repayments when they fall due. See how missed or late payments may impact your credit report.

For business customers

If you are a business customer and have a business loan or a line of credit, call us on 13 26 07 and we'll work with you to develop a solution tailored to your needs.

If you’re not in that position yet, there are other ways we can support you.

Our support teams can help you

Our Financial Assistance Solutions teams are here to support you for an unexpected event that is causing you difficulty meeting your repayments.

To do this we may ask you about your income and expenses (it helps us determine how we can best support you) and we could ask for other documents e.g. a medical certificate. Then together we can create a plan of action to get you back on track. Everything you tell us is confidential and assessed on a case-by-case basis. You can nominate someone to discuss your request for help if you prefer e.g. a financial counsellor, friend or family member.

Here’s more information about our processes (PDF) for assessing and providing you with financial assistance and the documents you may need.
