Group General Counsel and Group Executive, Group Corporate Affairs
Anna joined the Commonwealth Bank of Australia on 28 November 2016 as Group General Counsel and Group Executive, Group Corporate Affairs. Anna leads the Group's legal, secretariat and corporate affairs teams. Anna advises the CEO and the Board on legal matters and is also responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to the Group’s external and internal affairs, communications, sustainability and corporate governance.
Prior to joining the Commonwealth Bank, Anna was the Chief Risk and Legal Officer at Suncorp Group, having joined Suncorp in 2011. Prior to Suncorp Anna was a Corporate Partner at Allens Arthur Robinson (now Allens Linklaters), she had a large corporate and commercial practice, working with some of Australia's leading financial services organisations. Anna has also been a crown prosecutor with the Department of Public Prosecutions in Perth.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree and a Master of Arts in Psychology (Hons).
Anna is a member of the Law Society of NSW and admitted to practice in NSW, WA and the High Court of Australia. She is also a member of the GC100 (Australia) and Chief Executive Women (CEW).
