What is the issue?

You may have seen recent media reports related to PageUp about their potential security incident. Commonwealth Bank is one of many organisations globally who use this technology provider for recruitment activities. We take the protection of data very seriously and have been working together with international law enforcement, government authorities and independent security experts to fully investigate the matter. We have taken a cautious approach and suspended our use of PageUp’s systems until we are sure PageUp can handle data securely with the level of assurance we require.

 

What is PageUp?

PageUp is a technology provider for recruitment activities which Commonwealth Bank uses in most locations.  

What steps have you taken to secure my data?

We take the protection of data very seriously so we’ve taken a cautious approach and stopped using PageUp until we’re assured their systems are safe. 

Was my data compromised?

We are waiting on information from our provider, PageUp, regarding their investigations. We take cyber security very seriously and we’re currently fully investigating the matter.

What about recruitment activities?

If I have an application in progress what will happen?

We’re excited to review your application. However, all recruitment activities at Commonwealth Bank are temporarily paused. That means that although we may have received an application, we will be unable to continue processing it until PageUp is live again. If you have had conversations around an offer, we will be in touch with you over the coming days. If you have an interview scheduled, don’t worry, it will continue as normal. If you have been contacted to organise an interview we will continue the process as soon as we can.

How do I apply or submit an application for a role if the system isn’t working?

Unfortunately during the suspension, we’re unable to receive any new applications for roles. We sincerely apologise for this as we are eager to see your application. Timeframes for job applications will be extended when the system is available.

How long will this be an issue?

At this stage we’re not certain when the recruitment process will be moving again. We will continue to provide updates as we know more.
