Finding your login ID & password

Before you log on to CommBiz for the first time, you'll need your:

  • Login ID
  • Temporary password

These details are specific to you, so don’t share them with anybody else. An Administrator can create a new user profile for other people should they need access.

Here’s how you would’ve first received your log on details. If you can’t find them, an Administrator can get them from Admin > Users > User Security.

i. New users on an existing CommBiz service

  • Your login ID was sent via SMS or provided by your Administrator
  • Your temporary password was emailed to you

ii. New Authorisers logging on for the first time to a new CommBiz service

  • Your login ID is on the letter that came with your Security Token
  • Your temporary password was mailed to you separately

iii. New Administrators logging on for the first time to a new CommBiz service

If you submitted an online application:

  • Your login ID is on the letter that came with your Security Token
  • Your temporary password was mailed to you separately

If CommBank staff set up your CommBiz access:

  • Your login ID was emailed to you
  • Your temporary password was provided via SMS or over the phone

If you’re the only Administrator and can't find your details, please get in touch with your Relationship Manager or visit a CommBank branch for help.

Logging on for the first time

  1. Go to and hit log on
  2. Log on using your login ID and temporary password. Leave token password blank

Next you’ll be guided through a few quick steps to set up your CommBiz profile.

  1. Change your password
  2. Enter your personal email address
  3. Choose four security questions from the list of questions offered – you’ll need to answer these in order to reset your password or call the CommBiz Helpdesk. Click on a question, type the answer and click Add. Once you've added four questions, click Next. You can change these at any time in My Security Centre
  4. (Security Token users only) If you've already received your Security Token, activate it by following the on-screen prompts. Click Next
  5. If you want, you can choose a new login ID that's easier to remember, then click Change. Otherwise, skip this step by clicking Finish
  6. If your Administrator has requested, we’ll guide you through an ID check. If you don’t already bank with us, you’ll be asked to complete some paperwork.

Security devices

By following the steps above, you can log on to do simple things like view your accounts.

You may also receive one or both of the following devices that protect your security and provide access to other things. If you do, activate and start using them as soon as you can.

NetLock USB device

Depending on your service, we may send you a NetLock USB device.

If you receive a NetLock USB, you’ll need to plug it into your PC every time you log on. It authenticates your connection to CommBiz with an encrypted digital certificate and secured internet browser.

Note: You can only activate your NetLock once you’ve logged on for the first time.

Security token

If you’re an authoriser or administrator user, we’ll send you a security token. This provides access to any secured features (for example transaction authorisations) that have been assigned to you.
