Ready to apply? Make sure you:

  • Are aged 14 years and over10
  • Will arrive in Australia in the next 14 days or have arrived in Australia in the past 12 months
  • Are opening the account in your personal name
  • Show your current passport (original document required) for identity verification (ID) at a CommBank branch within 20 days of opening your account or it may close automatically.
  • Bring your Tax Identification Number (TIN) for each country of foreign tax residency

You can only deposit money into your account or make purchases once your ID is verified at a CommBank branch in Australia.
